Workers compensation attorney Randy Alberhasky strongly believes in giving back and the power of serving others for making the Springfield community a better place for everyone. In honor of the brave men and women who have put their lives on the line in service to our country, The Alberhasky Law Firm works with the University of Missouri School of Law to help our veterans and their families obtain the benefits they have earned. Randy also understands that young people are the future of the Springfield area. To that end, he is a long-time supporter of St. Joseph Catholic Academy and Cub Scout Pack 11.

Veterans Clinic at MU School of Law

In 2016, Randy launched an annual free Veterans Legal Clinic in Springfield, in conjunction with the MU School of Law. The school helps veterans and their families secure disability benefits through the MU Veterans Clinic. MU Law students in Columbia perform a number of tasks on behalf of veterans, working with the Regional Office and Board of Veterans’ Appeals, as well as the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
  • Interviewing clients, witnesses and medical personnel
  • Researching and developing the law and the facts of the case
  • Drafting documents
  • Preparing briefs
  • Interacting with other practitioners in area of federal veterans law
The Alberhasky Law Firm has also established the Major Mike Martinez Scholarship Fund at the MU School of Law in Columbia. The scholarship honors Army Major Mike Martinez, a 1998 MU Law graduate who gave his life while serving in Iraq in 2006. While returning from Baghdad to the 3rd ACR Headquarters near Tal Afar, the Blackhawk helicopter he was flying crashed, killing Major Martinez and 11 others who were on board.

Supporting Local Youth

St. Joseph Catholic Academy has been dedicated to educational excellence and spiritual development of Springfield’s young people since 1892. Randy serves on the Academy’s board and is a sponsor of the annual Beer and Barbecue fundraiser, which enables the school to provide a small classroom environment for serving its diverse student population from throughout the Springfield community. Scouting gives young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills and self confidence while discovering the joy of service to others. Randy is proud to sponsor annual popcorn sales for Cub Scout Pack 11 in Springfield, where he also served as Den Leader for five years and Cubmaster for three years.
